We’re Nick and Ana — travelers, storytellers, and your partners in crafting unforgettable journeys. We started Origins of Adventure to help people travel better, not just farther.

Nick – The Compass

Curious by nature and obsessed with good flow — in life and in travel — Nick grew up in Pacific Northwest where road trips, hiking and skiing planted the seeds for a lifetime of exploration. He has also lived for multiple years in Portland, OR, Keystone, CO, and Madrid, Spain and traveled to nearly 30 countries.
Nick’s version of adventure is intentional and immersive.
A budget traveler at heart, he’ll happily trade an extra outfit for his camera gear, a Grayl bottle, and his trusty HeroClip — always chasing the perfect shot, a quiet birdwatching moment, or a sunrise run. He’ll tell you: less luggage = more freedom.
From Japan (a forever favorite) to the backroads of Spain, he plans every journey with care — accommodations, transport, and the rhythm of the days. Whether hosting friends abroad or mapping out a solo recon, Nick’s known for smooth travel and local insight. Google Translate is never far, and neither is a good soundtrack.
He believes a great trip starts with preparation, an open mind, and a willingness to go just five minutes further — because that little extra effort? It’s everything.

Ana – The Lens

Originally from Palma del Río, Spain, Ana brings warmth, intuition, and creative spark to every adventure. A city girl turned slow-travel convert, she’s just as happy wandering quiet alleyways in Kyoto as she is sipping a matcha latte with a view. Her favorite destinations are those where nature meets culture — and tourists are blissfully few.
Ana has a gift for finding beauty in the details. She’ll curate a stay that feels like home, build out a stunning interactive map, and make sure the whole group’s experience is seamless and inclusive. She’s the one up early, taking in the stillness before the city wakes, and never missing a moment to soak it all in.
One of her most memorable takeaways? In Japan, locals carry their garbage home — a gentle reminder to travel with respect. Ana carries that spirit with her in everything she does.
She’ll tell you: pack light, splurge on the bed, savor the food, and be fully present — because you may not pass this way again.

Charlie – The Soft Pause

A little shy at first, but always up for the ride, Charlie is the feline force behind the scenes at Origins of Adventure. She’s our energy checker, lap warmer, and occasional guest star on video calls.
While she doesn’t travel often, she loves a good car ride and keeps a watchful eye on the birds — just like her dad. Her favorite part of the day? A nap in a sunlit window while the team gets things done.
Charlie’s approach to travel (and life): go slow, nap often, and always take time to watch the birds.
